Mohenjo Daro

In 2016 B.C., we meet Sarman, a young man from the village of Amri. Orphaned at a young age, he is given an amulet by his uncle, which features a unicorn, a creature that haunts his dreams, compelling him to embark on a journey.

Sarman travels to the city of Mohenjo Daro to trade his goods. Upon arrival, he quickly realizes that the city is held under the cruel rule of the tyrant Maham and his son Moonja, who are imposing harsh taxes on the farmers.

Seeing the despair of the farmers due to the crippling taxes, Sarman takes it upon himself to advocate for their rights. He believes that if he can rally the community, they may be able to resist Maham's oppressive regime.

While navigating the city, Sarman encounters Chaani, the beautiful daughter of the head priest of Mohenjo Daro. Sarman feels an instant attraction to her, unaware that she is already promised to Moonja, the chief's son.

Feeling threatened by Sarman's connection to Chaani, Maham challenges him to a dangerous competition known as the Bakar-Zokhar. If Sarman wins, he will free Chaani from her betrothal to Moonja, raising the stakes of their conflict.

The head priest shares the dark secrets of Maham's rise to power, detailing how he was banished from Harappa. His illegal dealings with the Sumerians led to his grasp over Mohenjo Daro, fueled by greed for the gold hidden in the Sindhu River.

In a shocking revelation, Sarman learns that he is the son of Srujan, the wise Senate Chief who was betrayed and killed by Maham. This knowledge propels Sarman into a destiny of confronting tyranny and reclaiming his father's honor.

Sarman enters the arena to face the dangerous mountain cannibals, Bakar and Zokhar, in a duel. After a fierce battle, he defeats one and chooses to spare the other, winning the support of the local populace and inspiring them to unite.

In a fit of rage, Maham incites Moonja to kill Chaani and the priest. While he succeeds in killing the priest, Sarman intervenes heroically to rescue Chaani, ultimately taking Moonja's life in revenge.

Chaani reveals Maham's sinister plot to exploit the Sindhu River's gold and smuggle in weapons for control. This revelation brings the chiefs together to stand against Maham's tyranny, rallying the city around Sarman.

The citizens, moved by Sarman's bravery and commitment, elect him as their new chief. However, in a demonstration of humility, Sarman advocates for a people's government instead of sovereignty, appealing to the citizens' belief in collective leadership.

Sarman foresees the impending crisis of the dam bursting, which threatens to flood Mohenjo Daro. Understanding the urgency of the situation, he quickly organizes the townsfolk to create a floating bridge using their boats to facilitate a mass evacuation.

As the townspeople escape across the river, the dam ultimately collapses, drowning Maham who is left shackled in the town square. This catastrophic event marks the end of Maham's reign of terror over Mohenjo Daro.

With the city of Mohenjo Daro succumbing to floodwaters, Sarman leads the surviving community towards a hopeful new beginning. He renames the river Ganga, symbolizing rebirth and the promise of a brighter future for the people.
