Anandi, an elderly woman, arrives in the city with relatives only to discover their materialistic attitudes. As she settles, she becomes drawn to two opposing street gangs of unemployed youths. The gangs, led by former friends now bitter rivals, reflect a society in the 1970s where politics, education and social values are unraveling.
