In the Moors, a young fairy girl named Maleficent lived with magnificent wings, dedicated to protecting her magical friends. Her innocence and devotion were the heart of the Moors, which thrived under their mystical essence.

Maleficent encounters a human boy named Stefan, who is caught stealing at the borders of the Moors. Upon returning a stolen jewel, they form a bond that blossoms into friendship as he shares his story as an orphan seeking belonging.

On her sixteenth birthday, Stefan kisses Maleficent, marking a moment of 'true love' that seals their friendship. However, he soon chooses the allure of power over their love, abandoning her for a place in the King's court.
