Manu, his teenage child, feels the pull of a different drumbeat. Rather than textbooks and exams, he is drawn to the resonant hum of microphones and the promise of a stage. His yearning to sing clashes with the pragmatic roadmap laid out for him, creating a simmering tension that colors every conversation at home. Rema, his mother, navigates the delicate balance between supporting her husband’s aspirations for their child and recognizing the spark of creativity that glimmers in her son’s eyes.

Outside the family home, the village’s social fabric weaves together an array of influences. The strict principal KC Francis runs a coaching centre where every student is under watchful eyes, embodying the relentless pursuit of academic excellence. Meanwhile, a charismatic figure known as Himaval Swami has set up an ashram, offering spiritual solace that subtly intertwines with the community’s everyday concerns. Krishnankutty, a longtime friend of Viswanathan, and his wife Santhanavally add further layers to the village’s collective hopes and anxieties.
