A vibrant road‑movie about sweeping love and rock‑and‑roll rebellion against the stale 1950s atmosphere. Lulu, a wealthy German girl, falls for Jimi, a young Black man, and together they flee the oppressive forces of Lulu’s mother Gertrud, her secret lover Schultz, the chauffeur and the sinister psychiatrist Von Oppeln. Bright, garish colours, wild dance numbers and a hot rock‑and‑roll soundtrack underscore their escape from a bigoted society.
