Lolo and the Kid

An experienced elderly hustler named Lolo and his energetic adoptive son Kid survive by routinely conning wealthy families. They pose as homeless to attract generosity and manipulate opportunities to steal goods. Stolen items are sold on the black market, with a client named Taba handling the discounts.

The duo sets their sights on a middle-class couple, Allan and Gemma. Kid sneaks goods from their residence while Lolo orchestrates the next move. They later sell the stolen goods on the black market to a client named Taba for a discounted price.

Lolo and Kid target Sandra, a wealthy businesswoman, and steal her belongings. Sandra spots them from a window above, but decides not to call the cops and simply watches them leave.

Lolo manages to sell one of Sandra's stolen belongings on the market, adding to their growing haul. The sale strengthens their confidence for the next con.

The duo then targets John and Norman, a wealthy gay couple who had loaned Lolo a large amount of money. Kid steals their belongings, but the couple catch them in the act.

During the theft, Kid is struck by an oncoming vehicle. John and Norman arrange medical care, and Kid is treated for his injuries.

The doctors treat Kid, but he escapes from the hospital through the back door and reunites with Lolo. They continue their life on the streets together.

The pair spend an entire day together at the beach. Lolo recalls the moment of destitution when he found an abandoned infant and decided to raise him as his own.

Lolo and Kid pick a fourth house belonging to Irma and Joel, a wealthy couple who lost their son to cancer and are willing to raise Kid. Lolo expresses concern for Kid's safety and urges him to live with them, which strains their partnership.

Years have passed and Kid has grown into adulthood. Joel and Irma begin planning a celebratory dinner, signaling a shift in their hopes for Kid's future.

The grown Kid visits the elderly Lolo in the hospital, reflecting on their shared past and the bond they've built over the years.

After selling the camera they had earlier bought from Taba, Lolo takes Kid to a karaoke bar to sing 'Through the Years' for old times. They reminisce as the song plays.

As they reach the chorus, Lolo passes away in his wheelchair, leaving the Kid to face the loss of his lifelong guardian and partner.

In the aftermath, Kid scavenges through Lolo's belongings and finds a photo collection showing him growing up and graduating. The images reveal Lolo's continued care and love for him all along.
