A thundering adventure that brings an empire to its knees begins when Octavio secretly sends his consul Curridio to Alexandria in a last‑ditch effort for peace. In the bustling city Curridio is smitten by Berenice, a mysterious and beautiful dancer. He soon learns that Berenice is actually Queen Cleopatra, who hides her royal status behind the stage name.
