In the high-stakes world of collegiate athletics, a dedicated swim team pushes the boundaries of physical endurance and ethical judgment in a relentless pursuit of victory. Desperate to shave seconds off their times and secure their dominance, several team members turn to anabolic steroids, seeking a chemical edge that promises to transform potential into podium finishes. This decision, however, introduces a volatile element into their tightly knit circle, creating an atmosphere where the pressure to perform outweighs the obvious risks to their health and futures.

During a break from their rigorous training schedule, the group ventures out to a local lake for what is intended to be a relaxing day trip. In the murky waters, they encounter a nuisance common to natural swimming holes: leeches. But the encounter proves far more significant than a mere annoyance. Feeding on the blood of the swimmers now tainted by performance-enhancing drugs, the leeches ingest a potent chemical cocktail that triggers a terrifying and rapid transformation. The creatures’ exposure to the steroids sets in motion a biological nightmare that follows them back to civilization.

As the team returns to the familiar confines of their college campus and swimming facilities, they remain unaware that the danger has accompanied them. The leeches, having mutated into something far more dangerous, begin to infiltrate the infrastructure of their daily lives. What began as a secret bid for athletic glory soon evolves into a fight for survival, as the swimmers face the horrifying consequences of their choices. The sanctuary of the pool and showers becomes a shadowy hunting ground, forcing the athletes to confront a monstrous threat that grows stronger with every encounter.
