Last Holiday

Georgia Byrd is a modest cookware salesperson who quietly sings in a Baptist choir. She keeps a scrapbook called the Possibilities Book to record her dreams, and she loves recreating Emeril Lagasse recipes—often serving them to a neighbor while denying herself a bite.

During the Christmas season, Georgia bumps her head and is taken to the store's health center for a CT scan. The doctor reveals she has several brain tumors caused by a rare terminal neurological disorder called Lampington's disease.

Faced with an incurable diagnosis and no affordable operation, Georgia resigns herself to four weeks to live. She quits her job, liquidates her assets, and sets off on a dream vacation.

Georgia travels to Europe and checks into the Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary. She moves into the Presidential Suite and begins updating her wardrobe, embracing a life she has long imagined.

She uses the hotel spa, tries snowboarding and BASE jumping, and enjoys lavish meals prepared by Chef Didier. Her luck seems to hold when she wins a fortune playing roulette.

Georgia's generosity and carefree charm win the admiration of most guests, while Kragen remains wary. The hotel staff and guests—including Senator Dillings and Congressman Stewart—see her as a wealthy, charismatic woman.

Kragen bribes Ms. Gunther to dig into Georgia's background, hoping to uncover a scandal. Ms. Gunther begins rummaging through Georgia's hotel suite and belongings.

Ms. Gunther discovers a letter Georgia wrote detailing her wishes for disposing of her remains and urges her to return home. The discovery prompts a shift in Georgia's perspective about her last days.

Georgia attempts to leave the hotel for the airport, but an avalanche blocks the road. Unbeknownst to her, Sean has flown to Europe and is on the other side of the snowdrift, ready to tell her his feelings.

Georgia returns to the hotel; Chef Didier invites her to help in the kitchen for a lavish New Year's Eve feast and publicly thanks her. Kragen tries to humiliate her at dinner by exposing her as a department-store salesperson, but Georgia reveals her terminal illness.

Sean arrives on the ledge and joins Georgia, confessing his love and admitting he has read her scrapbook. Their moment deepens as they confront the possibility of a shared future.

In the lobby, Ms. Gunther receives a fax stating Georgia was misdiagnosed because of a faulty CT scanner. She hurries to the ledge to share the good news with Georgia and Sean.

Georgia and Sean decide to return to New Orleans as a couple. They use the casino winnings to open a restaurant together, Georgia's Joint, which welcomes visits from Chef Didier and Emeril Lagasse.
