Szabolcs, a talented yet passionless football player, finds himself facing a series of personal and social upheavals that reshape his life in profound ways. Playing on an amateur German team, Szabolcs’s poor performance during an important match results in a red card and a subsequent withdrawal from the game after a heated clash with his best friend and teammate, Bernard. His failure to impress the league scout leaves him disillusioned, prompting him to leave the team and retreat to his rustic family home in the countryside of Hungary. There, Szabolcs decides to pursue a quieter life as a beekeeper, tending to his bees amid the quiet, rural landscape.

One evening, while patrolling the area, Szabolcs catches a local villager named Áron, who is played by Varga Ádám, attempting to steal his scooter. Áron, who lives with his injured mother, is quickly knocked out during the confrontation. Instead of calling the authorities, Szabolcs chooses to stay by Áron’s side until he regains consciousness. As the night progresses, Szabolcs invites Áron to help him repair the dilapidated house, fostering an unexpected friendship rooted in mutual reliance and understanding. Soon, Szabolcs joins locals in the community’s football matches, gradually becoming accepted into a small but lively social circle.

The relationship between Szabolcs and Áron takes a complicated turn after a night of swimming and drinking, when they lie together on the road, and Szabolcs, perhaps out of impulse or confusion, gives Áron a handjob. Áron, visibly conflicted about his feelings, is left with an ambiguous sense of what transpired. Despite his confusion, Áron continues to help Szabolcs around the house, and their connection deepens over time. As their bond grows stronger, Áron eventually confides in his mother about Szabolcs, which, in turn, sparks gossip within the conservative village community.

This gossip turns hostile when, during a football game, Szabolcs is assaulted by several villagers, fueled by prejudice and mis belief. When Áron refuses to stand up for him during the attack, Szabolcs is left feeling betrayed. Realizing he needs support, Szabolcs calls Bernard, who soon arrives in Hungary, stirring tension among the friends. Bernard, played by Sebastian Urzendowsky, expresses romantic interest in Szabolcs and urges him to return to Germany to pursue a career in football, offering the promise of a different future.

Despite Bernard’s efforts, the community’s animosity continues to escalate, and both Szabolcs and Áron face increasing hostility. After further beatings, especially Áron being assaulted by his own friends and criticized by his mother Enikő Börcsök, Áron moves into Szabolcs’s home seeking refuge. The rivalry between Bernard and Áron for Szabolcs’s affection intensifies, creating a complex triangle of emotions and loyalties. Ultimately, Szabolcs makes the decisive choice to stay in Hungary with Áron, turning his back on Bernard, who departs for Germany.

Struggling with feelings of guilt and loss, Áron returns home to find his mother in a critical condition, after neglecting her during his turmoil. He takes her to the hospital where she slips into a coma. Overcome with remorse and unable to face the guilt of her condition, as well as the hostile villagers, Áron returns to Szabolcs’s farm. Their relationship reaches a climactic point with a final sexual encounter, but tragedy soon strikes when Áron, overwhelmed by emotion and guilt, stabs Szabolcs in the chest and flees the farmhouse, leaving the story in a poignant, unresolved moment of tragedy.
