Kreola travels to Santa Domingo to join her photographer husband Andy, who is jealous of Marco, a man searching for his missing girlfriend Iris after a girls’ getaway. They locate Iris with the domineering sea captain Leon, and Andy asks Kreola to distract him so Marco can rescue her. Though skeptical, Kreola falls under Leon’s spell. Jo Ann blames the island’s lax atmosphere for Western inhibitions, and the men’s inability to free the women ends in drastic consequences.
