In 1980, a team of assassins led by Danny Bryce embarks on a critical mission in Mexico. This operation takes a tragic turn when Danny kills a target in front of the man's young child, leaving him psychologically scarred and prompting his retirement back to Australia.

Fast forward to 1981, Danny receives a distressing call about his old partner Hunter being held captive in Oman. Upon his arrival, he learns that Hunter failed a $6 million job, and if Danny doesn't take over the assignment, Hunter faces execution.

Danny discovers that his new mission involves eliminating three former SAS agents responsible for the deaths of the Sheikh's sons. The urgency is heightened as they must complete their task before the Sheikh, who is terminally ill, passes away.

To carry out the mission, Danny reconnects with his old assassin colleagues, Davies and Meier. They agree to help him in exchange for a cut of the substantial payment, solidifying their partnership once more.

The team infiltrates the home of their first target, Steven Harris. While Danny prepares for the confession videotaping, tensions rise as they realize they are being watched by the Feathermen, a group of former operatives seeking to uncover their activities.

During a supposed accident masquerading as a confession, chaos ensues when Meier accidentally kills Harris. This slip-up complicates their mission and raises the stakes as they must now regroup and plan their next move.

Back in London, Davies locates Steven Cregg, their next target who is training in harsh winter conditions. By feigning car trouble, Davies assists Danny in sneaking onto the base to execute their plan.

Danny drugs Cregg’s coffee during a training session, which leads to a disastrous sequence where Cregg succumbs to hypothermia while confessing. This success is bittersweet as Danny barely escapes the gaze of Logan, who is onto them.

Danny learns from the Agent that there is a larger conspiracy involving the British government manipulating the Sheikh for his oil reserves. This revelation complicates Danny's mission and raises concerns about the forces he’s up against.

For the ultimate elimination of Simon McCann, Danny and his team use a remote-controlled truck to orchestrate an accident. However, the plan backfires tragically, resulting in multiple casualties, including the loss of Meier.

Following the traumatic events and losses, Danny returns to Oman to present the last confession tape to the Sheikh, which secures Hunter's release. The emotional toll of their mission weighs heavily on Danny as he faces the consequences of their actions.

Danny learns about a final task involving Ranulph Fiennes, an author planning to expose the truths of the SAS. Understanding the risks, he instructs Anne, a friend, to escape to France for safety while he prepares for another dangerous endeavor.

In a twist to his final assignment, Danny decides not to kill Fiennes but merely wound him, leaving clues that suggest he is dead. This clever maneuver confuses those hunting him, allowing Danny a chance to slip out from under their watch.

As the final battle unfolds, Danny faces Logan one last time. Their confrontation reveals the underlying manipulations of the British government, who are engaged in a power struggle for the Sheikh's oil, complicating Danny's choices.

In a moment of profound realization, Danny chooses to relinquish the money due to him and Hunter, deciding instead to leave this life behind. Reuniting with Anne in France, he looks forward to a fresh start, away from the shadow of his past.
