Four decades ago, Sampath and Suresh cooperated to uncover jewels from the Vijayanagara Empire. Sampath was mysteriously killed on the same day. Suresh was later found with a bloodstained shirt, hinting at his possible involvement in Sampath's murder.

Shyam, a sincere traffic cop, unexpectedly discovers the skeletal remains of a three-member family. He is determined to pursue the truth despite warnings from his senior. The age of the remains is four decades old, hinting at a long-forgotten crime.

Forensic reports reveal signs of struggle, suggesting a murder rather than natural causes. Shyam commits to digging deeper, driven by curiosity and his own sense of justice. This sets the groundwork for a clash with bureaucratic caution.

Kumar, a small-time journalist, crosses paths with Shyam and becomes a useful ally. His interest in crime and truth accelerates the investigation, pushing Shyam to follow leads beyond routine police work. Together, they begin to connect the present case to long-buried secrets.

The team learns that the dead family’s head is Suresh, the boss of the archaeology department. Suresh had worked with Sampath decades earlier to uncover jewels. This ties the present mystery to the 40-year-old conspiracy and raises questions about who killed Sampath.

Mutthanna, a retired cop, enters the scene and starts sharing clues from his own decades-old investigation. Actress Madhuri is introduced as a key figure in the web of relationships surrounding the case. Their arrival complicates the investigation and broadens its scope.

Mutthanna reveals a twist: Suresh did not kill Sampath. The blood on Suresh's shirt belonged to a wounded person whom Suresh had saved. This revelation shifts suspicion away from Suresh and deepens the mystery.

Madhuri is killed later, and Shyam and Mutthanna visit her house where a Vijayanagara Empire necklace is found. A goon breaks in, forcing a chase that leads them to a distant resort. The necklace becomes a clue tying Madhuri to the empire's treasure and to the resort owner.

In a park near the resort, Mutthanna recognizes a place where a car was originally burnt years ago. This establishes a direct link to the conspiracy and reveals a pattern of staged crimes.

Inside the resort, a political leader, Mailur Srinivas Rao, gives a lengthy speech to supporters. Kumar informs Shyam that Madhuri had a history with gangsters, linking her to Mailur and his political machinery. The uncovering of these ties intensifies the investigation.

Mutthanna discovers the resort belongs to Mailur. Shyam inspects Mailur's old home and finds hidden holy Christian objects, an odd clue given Mailur's Hindu identity. Mutthanna proceeds to Mailur's campaign to gather more evidence.

Shyam and Mutthanna learn that Mailur resembles Fernandez, Suresh's old driver. When Mutthanna publicly shouts 'Fernandez', Mailur grows scared and orders his goons to abduct him. Mailur explains a scheme involving a hidden treasure, Sampath's murder, and a plan to kill Suresh to keep the loot.
