Circle Inspector Rajan Zachariah is the protagonist, played by Mammootty. He is an honest, dogged police officer who lives by his own terms and serves as godfather to Arjun. Kamala, played by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, is the in-charge of a brothel in Kaliyoor and is later revealed to be Thankachan's daughter.
