The movie begins by introducing a new student named <a href="/actor/prasanna">Easwaran</a> who joins Hari's class. Immediately, Easwaran's reserved and introverted nature makes him unpopular among the students, especially with <a href="/actor/kalaiyarasan">Hari</a>. An altercation ensues when Hari provokes Easwaran, leading to Easwaran breaking Hari's nose in a fight. This incident prompts Hari to bring his parents to school, where his mother learns that Easwaran is an orphan. Moved by this revelation, she tells Easwaran that she considers him her own son. Sadly, shortly after, her life ends, and at her funeral, Easwaran provides comfort to Hari by holding his hand, showcasing the deep bond that has developed.
Fast forward, a grown-up Hari is shown to be in a stable relationship with Gayathri <a href="/actor/sai-dhanshika">Dhansika</a>. Meanwhile, a quiet girl named Revathi <a href="/actor/srushti-dange">Srushti Dange</a> harbors feelings for Easwaran, but he avoids her because he fears something bad might happen to her. Throughout these years, the friends face threats from a local mayor's son, whom they severely injure after he harasses Hari’s sister. Easwaran, despite his reservations, agrees to marry Revathi after Hari's intervention, and they begin making plans for their future together.
However, complications erupt when Revathi’s father catches her returning from an outing with Easwaran. Soon after, Revathi is sent to her village — a decision that devastates Easwaran. The couple had hoped to introduce their families and get engaged, but when they return, Revathi has already been married off to someone else and appears content with her new life. Easwaran is left heartbroken, and Hari, overwhelmed with grief, drinks heavily, which causes Gayathri to leave him in frustration. Matters take a dark turn when the mayor's son demands that Easwaran be killed, and his mother agrees to this deadly plan.
The family of Gayathri is under pressure to arrange her engagement, and her grandfather insists she should be betrothed to her uncle before his health deteriorates. As they prepare for the engagement, Gayathri confides in Hari about her love for him. In a daring escape, Gayathri elopes with Hari, and they marry in a temple. Their happiness is short-lived, however, as tragedy strikes. Gayathri’s mother tragically commits suicide, and when Gayathri’s family finds out, they tightly restrict her from seeing her mother one last time. During the chaos, Gayathri is pushed outside and sustains a fatal head injury. She then witnesses her uncle and his men brutally beating and killing Hari.
Meanwhile, Easwaran, on his way to Gayathri's house, encounters henchmen sent by the mayor but manages to escape. He arrives too late to save Hari and Gayathri, who are already dead by the time he gets there. The story culminates in a heartbreaking conclusion, with Easwaran himself being killed by the mayor’s brother, symbolizing the tragedy that has unfolded due to violence and loss.
