In the summer of 1955, 14-year-old Lenny becomes deeply fascinated with the idea of sex, characteristic of typical teenage curiosity. However, feeling too young to engage, he embarks on a mission to witness others in intimate moments.

Lenny's voyeuristic attempts are abruptly halted when he is caught spying by his mother, Sylvia, and his stepfather. This discovery leads them to send him away to his relatives for a change of scenery.

Lenny is sent to the countryside to live with his Aunt Norma and Uncle Phil, though ironically, they reside in Queens. Initially disheartened by this sudden change, he worries about how he will spend his summer.

Once in Queens, Lenny begins to feel the weight of boredom until he meets a new group of friends. This band of teenagers, who call themselves a 'sex club,' introduces him to discussions that deepen his understanding of sexuality.
