David Abbott is introduced three months later as a landscape architect grappling with the loss of his wife. He is on a mission to find an apartment that feels right, facing the struggles of rebuilding his life amidst the emotional turmoil of his past.

David finds a sublet for Elizabeth's old apartment and decides to move in, feeling an unexplained connection to the space. As he settles in, he quickly discovers that he is not alone; the spirit of Elizabeth begins to make her presence known.

David encounters Elizabeth's spirit, who insists she is not dead, leaving him confused and questioning his sanity. Determined to understand this bizarre situation, he begins seeking help from various experts, including priests and paranormal enthusiasts.
