Set in 1774, on the brink of the American War of Independence, Janice belongs to a staunch Tory family but moves freely among both British loyalists and colonial rebels. Amid the rising tensions she attracts the attention of Charles Fownes, a patriot and confidant of General Washington, whose pursuit complicates her divided loyalties.
