In 1983, the Powell family gathers at Andrew Powell's cabin in the woods for an intervention to deprogram their son Justin. They hire Jimmy Levine, a deprogrammer with cult experience, hoping he can pull Justin away from the cult. Justin remains distant, insisting his real family is coming for him.

Jimmy Levine and Justin's father, Andrew, forcibly remove Justin from the cult's clutches during what looks like a kidnapping. Justin resists, claiming his true family will come for him. The attempt signals the beginning of a violent confrontation.

As the family tries to leave with Justin, masked cultists silently surround the cabin and threaten to reclaim him. The siege brings a sense of looming danger and isolation in the remote woods. The family realizes a direct assault is imminent.

A figure known as 'Fox Girl' appears near the cabin and carves the cult's symbol into a rock. Jimmy confronts her, but she ignores him and the situation turns deadly as danger closes in. The encounter signals the cult's reach and the fragility of the family’s safety.

Samantha tries to salvage the situation by convincing Justin to communicate with the cultists and support an escape. She grabs her baby Zoey and makes a break for the back door, slipping toward a road while hope flickers for a route to safety. The plan is fragile and uncertain.

Justin appears to agree to a desperate escape, but his actions are ambiguous as he kneels and lowers his head to the Lead Cultist's hand. The moment suggests a grim submission rather than a sincere partnership, leaving Samantha with a dangerous choice.

Just as a vehicle seems poised to aid their escape, the headlights reveal a cultist hiding behind Samantha. The rescue attempt is crushed, and the ending hints that the cult's reach still looms over the family. The scene leaves Justin's fate and the family's future unresolved.
