Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

After the harrowing aftermath of 9/11, Jack Ryan (Chris Pine), a bright student at the London School of Economics, finds himself thrust into a military career as a Marine second lieutenant. In less than two years, he is deployed to Afghanistan, even though his analytical skills in pattern recognition could have secured him a safer desk position back home. A tragic accident occurs when his helicopter is shot down by a surface-to-air missile, leaving him with critical injuries, including a damaged back.
