Jim goes to the hotel where he stayed previously and learns his old room is now occupied by Charlie and Marge Boyle. He moves through a city that feels both familiar and dangerous, hinting at ties to his past. The presence of ordinary travellers contrasts with the shadowy diamond plot.

At a café, Jim remembers Stephanie Bauer and the romance that once drew him in. She urges him to take a fast assignment flying businessmen to Cairo, hinting at both romance and risk. The decision pulls him deeper into the tangled web around the diamonds.

Aziz Rakim offers Jim a bracelet to give Stephanie, but a concealed compartment contains diamonds. Jim secretly hides the gems in his hotel ceiling fan, turning the bracelet into a dangerous token. The hidden diamonds ignite a chain of pursuit and double-dealing.

The morning after the warehouse ordeal, Jim appears poised to fly out, but Stephanie awakens and calls his name. Although he is briefly caught with the diamonds, Nural allows him to depart. As the aircraft takes off, Stephanie’s husband and the inspector decide Jim must return to Istanbul because someone intends to reunite with him.
