The film begins in 2018 with an American manned mission returning to the Moon. The lander is crewed by two astronauts, including James Washington, a black male model handpicked to support the re-election of the U.S. President. Viewers are greeted with playful “Black to the moon” posters promoting this groundbreaking lunar visit. Upon landing on the Moon’s dark side, they face an unexpected discovery: a group of Nazis, who have remained hidden since 1945. Tragically, Washington is captured.
The Nazi scientist, Doktor Richter, interrogates Washington and stumbles upon his smartphone. Initially doubtful, he soon realizes its superior computing power far surpasses their own technology, and he envisions using it as a control hub for their space battleship, Götterdämmerung. In a critical demonstration before the existing Führer, Wolfgang Kortzfleisch, the phone’s battery dies, disrupting their plans. Meanwhile, Nazi commander Klaus Adler, genetically chosen to breed with Earth specialist Renate Richter (Doktor Richter’s daughter), boldly volunteers to travel to Earth for more phones, taking a subdued Washington along with him.
Upon their arrival, they discover that Renate has secretly accompanied them. Back on Earth, the President grapples with significant political challenges and urgently seeks a miracle for her re-election. Adler seizes the opportunity and kidnaps the President’s aide, Vivian Wagner, who introduces the Nazi duo to the political scene. Wagner sees the potential in Adler and Renate’s narrative, aligning it with the President’s campaign, turning them into key propaganda players. Unbeknownst to Renate, who remains oblivious to Adler’s true ambitions, they revitalizing the campaign with a twisted flair.
After three months of cunning maneuvers, Kortzfleisch begins to unravel Adler’s treachery and confronts him, only to meet a fatal end at Adler’s hands. Wagner, now entwined with Adler, is blindsided by the stark reality of their identity as genuine space Nazis. In a shocking twist, she engages with Adler but soon finds herself discarded when he snatches her iPad, which he deems essential for powering the Götterdämmerung.
Now asserting himself as the new Führer, Adler retreats to the Moon aboard Kortzfleisch’s spacecraft, while Renate encounters the now free James Washington. She begins to understand that the terrestrial Nazis are not the allies she believed them to be. Washington enlightens her with accounts of Nazi history, illustrating that everything she had learned was merely a product of their propaganda and delusions of greatness. In a climactic moment, Adler attempts to eliminate Renate when she approaches him, but with Washington’s assistance, she escapes.
The United Nations convenes to address this unprecedented extraterrestrial Nazi threat. The President, viewing the conflict as a beneficial war for her re-election, appoints Wagner as commander of the spaceship USS George W. Bush, armed with nuclear weapons for the impending battle. As it turns out, other nations have also equipped their own spacecraft for the confrontation, uniting to combat the Nazi armada.
Determined to end Adler’s reign, Richter persuades Washington to accompany her back to the Moon. They commandeer Adler’s flying saucer, intent on halting his plans within the Götterdämmerung. While Washington navigates to disable the ships’ engines, Renate seeks out Adler. A concurrent battle unfolds as the united international space fleet obliterates the Swastika moon base and races toward the Götterdämmerung.
In an epic showdown, Washington successfully disconnects the device commandeering the Götterdämmerung just as Richter confronts Adler. The ensuing chaos leads to the battleship crashing into the Moon, but not without Adler leaving a notable scar on its surface in an attempt to strike Earth. Celebrated for her victory, Wagner receives a call from the President during a UN session, revealing the discovery of vast Helium-3 reserves on the Moon. This revelation promises to revolutionize the United States’ energy independence. The enraged reaction from a UN member swiftly escalates into a chaotic fray amongst the nations.
As Richter meets up with Washington in the damaged remains of the Swastika moon base, they share a tender embrace in front of her astonished former students. Richter acknowledges that they have “a lot of work cut out for them.” The film concludes with a sobering visual of Earth engulfed in missile-driven chaos, while a man-made satellite ominously orbits Mars, leaving audiences pondering the fate of the universe.
