In the Name of the King III

Hazen Kaine, an American contract killer in Sofia, Bulgaria, takes on what he believes will be his final job: kidnapping the three children of a wealthy royal billionaire. While planning this job and preparing to start a new life afterward, he unexpectedly finds himself transported back to medieval times, arriving in the kingdom of Ehb. The mechanism of his transportation is not fully explained in the film, he simply appears in this world and begins a new life as a farmer known as 'Farmer.'

Farmer, who has been living in Stonebridge with his wife Solana and son Zeph under the name Hazen Kaine, is revealed to be Camden Konreid, the long-lost son of King Konreid. This revelation comes when Merick, a Magus in Konreid's service, senses a familiar thread in Norick and realizes that Farmer is actually the king's missing heir. This discovery reframes the war against Gallian as both a political and personal conflict, as Camden must come to terms with his royal lineage while saving the kingdom.

During the brutal Krug assault on Stonebridge, Zeph, Farmer and Solana's young son, is captured by Gallian's arcane Krug avatar. The Krug raid the town with armored units and coordinated tactics, and in the chaos, Zeph is taken. He remains Gallian's captive throughout much of the story, and his fate becomes one of the driving motivations for Farmer's fight against the Magus.

Gallian is a powerful Magus who manipulates the Krug, creatures previously thought primitive, into a coordinated army through his dark magic. He serves as the mastermind behind the Krug invasion, using his arcane abilities to transform these creatures into armored, strategically-minded soldiers driven by his sinister will. His sadistic genius is bent on conquering the kingdom of Ehb, and the Krug serve as his primary instrument of war.

During the final confrontation in Gallian's stronghold, Solana, having been captured and brought to his lair, finds an opportunity to stab Gallian in the back. This act shifts the balance of power and shatters Gallian's hold over the Krug. While the film doesn't explain the precise magical mechanism, Solana's wound appears to disrupt Gallian's concentration or connection to his dark magic, weakening his grip on both his servants and his magical abilities, allowing Camden to finish the fight.

During the pursuit through the dangerous terrain, Norick and Bastian are captured by the Krug while Farmer escapes. Both are taken to Gallian's lair at Christwind Hold. Norick later makes a heroic last stand and falls in battle while fighting against the Krug. Bastian's specific fate is less clear from the summary, but he is among those held in Gallian's stronghold until the final assault frees the captives.

When Camden kills Gallian by slitting his throat during their final duel, the Magus's death breaks the dark magic binding the Krug. With Gallian defeated, the Krug revert to their original primal state, mindless creatures rather than the coordinated army they were under his control. This frees the minds that Gallian had bent to his will and ends the immediate threat to the kingdom.

Duke Fallow is King Konreid's nephew who schemes for the throne throughout the film. He allies with Gallian in ways that threaten to split the realm's already fragile unity. When Gallian poisons Konreid, he inadvertently worsens Fallow's own condition through behind-the-scenes manipulation. Fallow's betrayal becomes increasingly exposed, and he ultimately faces Tarish in a climactic duel that determines the succession and the legitimacy of the realm's leadership.

Merick, a Magus who serves King Konreid, notices Norick among the refugees from Stonebridge and senses a familiar thread, he believes he has seen Norick before. This observation is the first clue that leads to the revelation of Farmer's true identity as Camden Konreid. The 'familiar thread' Merick senses is the magical or blood connection between the refugees and the royal family, which his magical abilities allow him to detect.

Merick's early observation about sensing something familiar in Norick foreshadows the later revelation about Farmer's royal lineage.

Elora is a reclusive nymph whom Farmer and his companions encounter in the haunted Sedgwick Forest while fleeing the Krug. She becomes their guide, leading them toward safer ground and helping them navigate the forest's dangers. Elora continues to support the group throughout their journey, remaining to guard their route during the final assault on Christwind Hold. Her knowledge of the land and magical nature make her a valuable ally.

After defeating Gallian and saving the kingdom, Hazen Kaine is revealed to be Camden Konreid, the rightful heir to the throne and son of King Konreid. This revelation unlocks a future where the realm can be united under a king who bridges King Konreid's wisdom with Camden's new hope for Ehb. With the villain defeated and the rightful lineage confirmed, Camden is recognized as king, and he reunites with Solana as the new ruler preparing to rebuild the kingdom.
