A group of friends sets off for an adventurous journey into the woods. During their excursion, they stumble upon an old locket hanging from the remnants of a decrepit fire tower, which Troy attempts to take.

Troy's act of pocketing the locket unknowingly awakens the vengeful spirit of Johnny. Johnny, fueled by a fierce intensity, begins his haunting mission to reclaim the locket, weaving through the woods like a wraith.

Johnny first encounters a rotting fox corpse, which serves as a grim herald of the horrors yet to unfold. As he processes this disturbing sight, he hears two men arguing in the distance, foreshadowing the chaos looming in the woods.

In his quest for revenge, Johnny sneaks into a secluded home and finds a cherished necklace that brings back bittersweet memories of his father. However, his moment of nostalgia is shattered when the homeowner arrives unexpectedly, forcing him to escape.

The group of friends gathers around a campfire where Ehren chillingly recounts Johnny’s tragic story. He shares how a developmentally delayed son was lured to his doom, dramatically foreshadowing the horror that awaits them.

As night falls, Ehren makes the ill-fated decision to step outside and meets a horrific end at the hands of Johnny. Using a drawknife, Johnny brutally claims his first victim, sending a wave of terror through the rest of the group.

The day after Ehren's murder, Johnny brazenly ventures to the park ranger's office. He steals dragging hooks and an axe, donning an antique firefighter mask that hints at his sinister intentions.

Johnny targets Aurora and Brodie at their peaceful lakeside retreat. As Brodie unknowingly wades into the water, Johnny surfaces to claim Aurora, brutally ending her life in a shocking aquatic assault.

Johnny's reign of terror continues as he drags Aurora to a cliffside while she practices yoga. Her terrified screams echo through the valley as Johnny plunges her mangled body off the ledge, displaying his relentless malice.

Amidst growing chaos, Troy, Colt, and Evan argue over forgotten car keys they mistakenly discarded in the woods. This careless act allows Johnny to discover the keys and toy car keychain, adding to his collection of macabre trophies.

In a desperate bid to escape, Colt and Kris attempt to flee on an ATV. However, as they navigate the chaos caused by Johnny, their plans quickly unravel, leading them into peril's grip.

As the night deepens, Johnny confronts the park ranger at the ranger station. In a shocking burst of violence, he overpowers the ranger using a log splitter, showcasing his brutality and unyielding quest for vengeance.

Desperate to devise a distraction, Colt attempts to trick Johnny but ultimately falls victim to his axe. The horror escalates as the group realizes that escape seems increasingly impossible.

In a moment of desperation, Kris leaves the locket dangling from a gas canister as she flees the chaos, aided by an injured leg. She encounters a sympathetic stranger who offers her a ride, unaware of the lurking horrors.

During the ride, the kind woman shares an eerie story about a bear encounter from her past, unwittingly adding to Kris's terror. As Kris pleads for her to flee, shadows loom threateningly, suggesting that the horror may not yet be over.
