Haran killed Amar after discovering that Amar had raped his half-sister Neerja and her friend Sakina. When Sakina's brother Ansar, who was being blackmailed by Amar, approached Haran for help, Haran's protective rage led him to confront and kill Amar at his warehouse.

Alisha developed prosopagnosia (face blindness) after being struck by a truck. Four weeks before the main events, she entered Amar's warehouse to expose his crimes but was caught in the fire Haran set. While escaping, she ran into the street and was hit by a truck, which damaged her ability to recognize faces.

The first sketch matched Haran's face because Alisha's prosognosia caused her to perceive the killer's face as familiar, specifically, she drew the face of someone she had recently encountered. Since Haran was actively involved in the investigation and had met Alisha at the safe house, her damaged facial recognition caused her to draw his face instead of the actual killer's.

Allen Jacob killed Dineshan. During the car chase, Allen stole Haran's disguise to approach Dineshan and shot him to retrieve the hard drive containing incriminating videos. Allen made it appear as if Haran was the culprit, but Haran later proved his innocence to Alisha.

Allen Jacob was a suspended police officer who had been selling new identities to criminals through the Witness Protection Scheme. He monetized human shadows by creating fake identities for criminals, including business magnate Chinappa. He also arranged for Amar to force Ansar to help murder Chithrammal, a journalist's widow whose identity Allen had sold to Chinappa.

Haran became involved after demonstrating his drawing talent during a scooter-theft incident in his neighborhood. Allen Jacob was impressed by Haran's ability to sketch and asked him to create a composite drawing of the killer based on Alisha's description. Haran had learned drawing from his late mother, who was a police sketch artist.

The hard drive contained incriminating videos from Amar's blackmail operation. These recordings documented his crimes against multiple women and the conspiracy involving Allen's identity-selling scheme. Allen desperately sought the drive to destroy the evidence linking him to his criminal enterprise, while Haran and Alisha needed it to expose Allen's crimes.

Haran Shankar is a former NSG (National Security Guard) commando and currently serves as an active Sky Marshal. His training explains his exceptional combat skills and precision. His obsessive-compulsive tendencies were shaped by an abusive father, and he works as a part-time karate instructor while living with his sisters Devika and Neeraja.

Haran disabled the plane's transponder to prevent Allen's plan from succeeding. Allen had coerced an air traffic controller to help crash the plane with Chithrammal aboard. Haran, working with Nakul and Alisha, uncovered seven other witnesses whose identities Allen had sold and stopped the crash by rendering the transponder inoperative, saving hundreds of lives.

The hard drive was destroyed when it was exposed to MRI radiation during the plane confrontation. While Allen initially escaped with the drive, the radiation from medical equipment on the plane fried its contents, eliminating the crucial evidence. However, Haran still managed to expose and kill Allen in the mid-air confrontation.

Amar kidnapped Neeraja and Sakina as part of his blackmail and exploitation ring. After assaulting them, he used the recordings to blackmail their families. This directly led to Haran's revenge killing when Neerja's brother Ansar, being blackmailed by Amar, finally sought Haran's help to stop the cycle of abuse.

Alisha was referred to as Ann to protect her identity during the investigation. As an eyewitness to Amar's murder, her real name and occupation as a news presenter were kept confidential for her safety. Allen and Dineshan used the alias Ann to shield her from potential retaliation from criminals involved in the case.
