Husk

A flock of crows attacks their SUV on a rural Nebraska road, crashing the vehicle and knocking everyone unconscious. When they come to, Johnny is missing and the group must decide what to do next.

Natalie and Chris stay by the car while Brian and Scott venture into a cornfield to search for Johnny near a nearby farmhouse. The search is tense, with the group split and the sense that danger lurks nearby.

In the field, they discover a scarecrow mounted in a clearing and a rusted, derelict car whose windshield is smeared with crow carcasses. The unsettling finds hint at a malevolent force at work.

The group reaches a decaying farmhouse that seems abandoned, yet a light glows from an upstairs window. The eerie glow suggests somebody may still be inside.

Natalie spots a young boy in the cornfield and chases him, only to stumble upon a foul-smelling scarecrow that hides human remains beneath its clothes. The discovery heightens the danger and horror they face.

Brian and Scott reach the lit upstairs room and find Johnny undead, sewing burlap pieces on an antique machine. The room goes dark just as Natalie's scream echoes from outside.

Chris follows Natalie into the corn and witnesses her being attacked and dragged away, vanishing from sight. The danger closes in as the group loses track of her.

Brian discovers Natalie's lifeless body strung up in the clearing, and a strange force seems to enter her eyes. He then spots movement in the corn and tackles a seemingly murderous scarecrow, only to be knocked back by a second attacking scarecrow.

Back at the house, Brian blames Chris for Natalie's death, and he and Scott leave Chris alone to search the yard for a way out. In the barn, Scott hallucinates a farmer abusing his teenage son (Corey) in front of his other son (Alex); Brian does not share this vision.

The young boy Natalie saw lures Brian to the sewing room, where an undead Natalie begins to sew a scarecrow mask. Chris tries to leave but the door is stuck; Scott and Brian fail to open it, and Chris escapes through a window only to be knocked unconscious. Brian enters the sewing room and finds it empty.

Scott hallucinates again, this time seeing Corey kill Alex in the cornfield and dress the body as a scarecrow, blood seeping into the ground. Scott wakes to a real scarecrow attacking him, but Brian arrives and smashes it with an axe, then helps Scott back to the house.

In the cellar, Scott and Brian find Corey's remains with a shotgun, indicating Corey died by suicide. Chris hot-wires the truck and drives through the cornfield, but is attacked by several scarecrows; Brian saves him with Corey's shotgun, but is killed by Natalie's scarecrow when he cannot bring himself to shoot her. Alex possesses Brian, and Chris and Scott plan to burn the field; Chris fights off multiple scarecrows but is killed, and Scott escapes toward the road as a couple arrives at the SUV too late to help, with Alex lingering in the grass as the credits roll.
