The American soldiers learn that their unit will soon return home, sparking a sense of hope and excitement among the group. With this knowledge, they eagerly prepare for their final mission, expecting it to be a routine operation.

The soldiers are assigned a humanitarian mission to deliver medical supplies to a remote Iraqi village. Despite the underlying tension of the war, they are determined to assist those in need and fulfill their duty.

While en route to their destination, the convoy falls into a deadly ambush by insurgents. Caught in a narrow street, the front vehicles struggle to fight back while the rear vehicles attempt to escape the onslaught.

During the ambush, the rear vehicles encounter an improvised explosive device hidden in a dead dog. SGT Price suffers severe injuries, being somewhat shielded by her passenger who tragically dies in the explosion.

The soldiers pursue the young boys who allegedly planted the bomb, hoping to seek revenge. However, chaos ensues as one of their comrades is shot and killed during the ongoing firefight.

As Yates and Owens chase down the remaining attackers, Owens falls victim to a hidden shooter. Yates finds Owens bleeding out, and despite his desperate efforts, it’s too late to save him.

The team arrives at a field hospital only to become targets of a mortar attack. As chaos erupts and medical staff scramble to treat the wounded, the dire situation leads to multiple injuries and casualties.

Both Price and Aiken are evacuated for medical treatment, but their fates diverge significantly. Price undergoes a traumatic amputation of her hand, while Aiken succeeds in his recovery and returns to the unit.

Upon returning home, the soldiers each face their own challenges transitioning back to civilian life. Price grapples with her disability, while Yates and Aiken also confront personal demons from their experiences in Iraq.
