Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

The McCallister family gathers in their Chicago home, buzzing with excitement as they prepare for their Christmas vacation to Miami. Young Kevin feels uneasy about the upcoming trip, wishing he could experience the traditional snowy Christmas instead of the warmer climate of Florida.

During the school Christmas pageant, tensions rise when Kevin's older brother Buzz embarrasses him on stage. In a fit of frustration, Kevin pushes Buzz, leading to a series of hurt feelings and forced apologies back home.

Feeling overwhelmed by his family's chaos, Kevin seeks solitude and retreats to the attic of their home. There, he wishes that his family would simply disappear, longing for a moment of peace away from their constant bickering.

In the frenzy of the family's departure to the airport, Kevin is distracted while helping with the luggage. He inadvertently boards a flight to New York City, leading to an unexpected adventure in the big city, completely alone.

Once in New York, Kevin wanders the bustling streets, filled with amazement and curiosity. His adventure takes a tense turn when he encounters a homeless woman in Central Park, who scares him away with her unusual behavior.

Kevin manages to check into the luxurious Plaza Hotel using his father's credit card. He is blissfully unaware of the danger looming over him, as the Sticky Bandits have also come to New York after escaping from prison.

In a heartwarming moment, Kevin visits a local toy store owned by Mr. Duncan, who plans to donate the day's earnings to a children's hospital. Touched by this spirit of giving, Kevin donates money and receives two ceramic turtledoves as a symbol of friendship.

As Kevin leaves the toy store, he unexpectedly crosses paths with the Sticky Bandits, Harry and Marv. Realizing they are planning to rob the store, Kevin cleverly escapes their grasp just in time to seek refuge back at the Plaza Hotel.

Meanwhile, the McCallister family arrives in Miami and soon realizes that Kevin is not with them. They panic and engage the police to report him missing, while they begin to track the unauthorized use of Peter's credit card.

While exploring his uncle's empty townhouse, Kevin stumbles into Central Park again, where he encounters the Pigeon Lady. Moved by her touching story of lost love, Kevin learns valuable lessons about trust and friendship.

Inspired by his encounter with the Pigeon Lady and his earlier experiences, Kevin devises an ingenious plan to deter the Sticky Bandits from robbing the toy store. He prepares elaborate traps throughout his uncle's townhouse.

As Harry and Marv execute their plan to rob the toy store, they unexpectedly fall into the traps Kevin has set for them. A series of chaotic events ensues as Kevin skillfully evades capture while keeping the thieves at bay.

With police on the lookout for the Sticky Bandits, Kevin continues to outsmart them. After a chaotic chase, he manages to escape just in time, leaving evidence of their crimes behind as law enforcement starts to close in.

Upon realizing that Kevin has been in New York all along, the family rushes to find him. Their emotional reunion takes place under the iconic Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, marking a joyful end to their worry and panic.

On Christmas morning, the McCallisters are pleasantly surprised by gifts sent to their hotel room from Mr. Duncan, honoring Kevin's bravery. In a touching moment, Kevin gives one of his cherished turtledoves to the Pigeon Lady, recognizing their friendship.
