High School Big Shot

Marv Grant lives with a deadbeat, alcoholic father. The home is turbulent and unstable, shaping his early frustrations and sense of responsibility. He dreams of a better future despite the chaos at home.

At school, Marv begins dating Betty Alexander, a popular girl who quickly becomes central to his life. Betty uses his affection and crush to manipulate him. Their relationship becomes a tool for her schemes.

Betty manipulates Marv into writing her English term paper, but a teacher discovers the cheating and fails her. The teacher also withdraws his college recommendation from Marv, destroying his scholarship chances. Marv is left humiliated and angry.

Betty dumps Marv and returns to her old boyfriend Vince, revealing that she had used him all along. Marv is left furious and heartbroken, with his plans for the future suddenly in doubt.

While working a part-time shift at the docks, Marv overhears his boss plotting a $1 million heroin deal and that the money will be stored in the office safe. The revelation gives him a dangerous option to solve his problems.

Marv enlists safecracker Harry March and his brother-in-law Sam Tallman to pull off the theft. They devise a plan to steal the money from the dock office safe and escape with the cash. The plan is bold and risky, driven by desperation.

Marv tells Betty about the pending robbery hoping to win her back through danger, and she expresses interest. Secretly, she tasks Vince with stealing the money, hoping to ruin Marv and keep control of the situation.

Marv and his two accomplices steal the money from the office safe and escape with the cash. They believe the haul will secure a better future, but the night is far from over. The operation proceeds under the cover of darkness.

During the escape, Vince and his gang attempt to take the money from Marv's crew. Sam resists and is shot by Vince, horrifying the others and causing them to flee in panic.

Betty arrives on the scene and Vince, blaming her for getting him into the mess, shoots and kills Betty. The violence escalates in the tense dockside confrontation.

The drug dealers arrive and shoot Vince as he tries to leave with the cash. The money spills off the dock into the water, making the escape even more futile. The scene spikes the violence and danger around the docks.

Police arrive on the scene, shooting one dealer and arresting the others along with Marv. The failed crime ends in tragedy as law enforcement closes in on the survivors.
