In 1952, bobsledders Gamser, Franzl, Gustl and Leusl Peter train for the Oslo Winter Olympics. Veteran Bavarian Gamser hopes to finally outclass his rival Dorfler. Their rivalry fuels constant clashes, while Rosi and Anna try to keep the peace. The culmination arrives in Oslo with a decisive showdown that extends beyond the bobsled track.
