During a summer vacation to a rented cottage, local police constables Bigbelly and Stronglass anticipate a week of peace. Their optimism grows when they unexpectedly win a rent-free cottage for a week, unaware that it's situated right next door. The truth creates a predicament, forcing the constables to disguise themselves as the artistic Rubens brothers to maintain their anonymity. This deception unexpectedly charms Mother Kattilakoski, leading Hayflower and Quiltshoe to suspect the brothers might be escaped bandits and leading them to investigate.
