Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Clothes

They learn that a million gold pieces will be awarded to the tailor who makes the best clothes for the emperor. Marmaduke and Mufti decide to pursue this prize, hoping to use the opportunity for their own schemes. The revelation sets Marmaduke on a path that will test cleverness against the emperor's vanity.

Princess Jane, the emperor's daughter, tells Marmaduke about the wicked jester Jasper. She warns that Jasper is maneuvering to seize power through lavish clothing and flattery. Marmaduke vows to thwart Jasper's schemes.

Jasper flatters the emperor with luxurious clothing and begins to dominate the court while paying the tailors starvation wages. Marmaduke and Mufti are thrown into the Boulevard of Rogues to work as punishment. The situation establishes the villain's control and the protagonists' resolve to resist.

Marmaduke patches an old suit for the emperor, hoping to keep up appearances. An orphan boy named Busky joins them, and together they finish the suit and manage to escape the Boulevard of Rogues by crossing a dangerous moat. The trio's bond strengthens as they flee.

Marmaduke tells the emperor that they have brought a beautiful suit, but the emperor sees only ragged fabric and is forced to pretend. Marmaduke asserts that the cloth is enchanted and invisible to those who are stupid or unfit to hold office. The emperor cannot admit he cannot see it, maintaining the ruse.

Jasper plans to trick Jane into marriage to cement his grip on the empire. He schemes to manipulate the wedding for political gain, while the emperor remains oblivious to his machinations.

Marmaduke, Mufti and Busky pretend to work on the unseen suit as the emperor attempts to learn to see it. They keep the ruse alive while they bide their time for a smarter plan. The deception relies on the emperor's stubborn belief that the cloth might be real.

Jasper threatens Ivan to fire the cannon at the Boulevard of Rogues to crush the rebellion and seize the prize money. Marmaduke and friends devise a plan that uses trickery with coins to outwit Jasper. The danger heightens as the threat of violence escalates.

Mufti makes fake coins from brass statues brought by Jane, and Marmaduke presents the new suit to the emperor who pays with prize money. They hide the fake coins in Ivan's cannon, but Jasper orders them to stop, allowing real gold coins to end up in the cannon.

The emperor parades in view with the new, non existent suit; the council gasps at his nakedness. Busky interrupts with laughter and reveals the truth, declaring the emperor naked. The council banishes Jasper for letting Marmaduke trick the emperor.

Busky delivers a note revealing that Jane and Marmaduke will marry. The emperor realizes Jane's love for Marmaduke and leads a parade to the Boulevard of Rogues toward the wedding, accepting the naked truth.

Jasper orders Ivan to fire the cannon into the crowd, sowing chaos. The cannon erupts with real gold coins that flood the boulevard and bring wealth to the town. Mufti mourns the loss of the prize money, but Marmaduke is happy as he kisses Jane.
