On January 1, 2008, at the Xcalibur Bowling Centre, a disco-flavored alley in Surrey, British Columbia, the janitor Egerton lets two groups of teens bowl after hours, setting off a night that spirals into violence. The tension crackles early as Steve and his friends clash with others, and a sharp rebuke from Jamie quiets the crowd—only to flare again when a rough confrontation erupts between Steve’s team and Jamie’s crew. In the chaos, Lisa intervenes in an abrupt, shocking moment, breaking up the fight by striking at Steve with a bowling ball. Egerton promptly steps in, ordering the groups to retreat and promising they can finish their tournament the next night.

That return is anything but peaceful. Inside, a brutal sequence unfolds as Steve and his crew target [Lisa], and a disturbing power dynamic emerges as A.J. and Joey are pulled into the maelstrom. Patrick hesitates at first but is coerced into participating. The violence escalates: a weaponized moment with a bowling pin, coercion, and the group leaving [Lisa] vulnerable on the pool table. The next night, the night’s setup shifts—Steve comes back with Julia and Hannah in tow, while Jamie arrives with a visibly traumatized [Lisa].

As the game resumes, a mysterious player marked as BBK appears on the scoreboard, initially dismissed as a glitch by Egerton. The social fabric of the night frays further: Dave flees to the bar to meet [Julia], and their uneasy kiss in the bathroom is interrupted by violence as an unseen killer strikes in a stall, severing the moment and ending Dave and Julia’s presence in the night. The scoreboard then shows two skull-and-crossbones strikes beside BBK, a chilling omen that the danger is real.

Tension spikes when Sam heads to the bathroom to “freshen up,” only to be cut off by a sudden attack—her fate sealed as the chaos continues to ripple through the night. The spree widens: Ben and Cindy become unbalanced targets, and the chaos spills into the basement where bodies lie and the escape seems blocked.

In a flurry of cold, predatory moves, the killer silhouette reappears behind the pinsetters and strikes again, culminating in a brutal confrontation where [Steve] meets his end. The revelation of the killer’s identity begins to take shape as the night’s secrets unravel: the person behind BBK is revealed to be Egerton, the caretaker who had not acted to prevent the escalating violence. Yet the night does not end with one confession. [Lisa] confronts Egerton, admitting she took vengeance on [Steve], while [Patrick]—who had admitted his own role in the assault—faces a brutal consequence as Egerton silences him.

The escalation continues as [Jamie] confronts Egerton in a final, desperate struggle, and Egerton’s life ends in a blow that shatters the remaining tension. The shockwaves of the night ripple through the survivors: [Lisa] is slain by Sarah in a desperate betrayal of revenge, and in the aftermath, with every BBK member gone, [Sarah] acts to free the exits by shooting the chains away so they can escape. Yet the night’s moral costs linger. Distrust festers between [Jamie] and the rest of the group, and in a final, grim twist, Sarah turns the gun on Jamie, ending him as the last thread of the night’s certainty unravels.

What began as a late-night bowling outing devolves into a psychological and physical siege, driven by a hidden killer, the lure of vengeance, and the volatile loyalties of a group of teenagers who thought they were just playing a game. The haunting conclusion leaves the survivors to reckon with what happened, who helped whom, and who paid the ultimate price for the night’s horrific events.
