In the near‑future humanity reaches for the stars, only to encounter a vast swarming race of insectoid “Space Monsters” intent on eradicating mankind. To combat the threat, giant mecha are built and piloted by selected youth worldwide. Noriko Takaya, daughter of a famed late captain, joins the training despite limited skill, and is paired with the talented, confident Kazumi Amano. Together they confront alien assaults, the horrors of war, and their growing personal feelings.
