Frances takes it upon herself to find the handbag's owner, leading her to the address listed inside. However, upon arrival, she finds the place eerily vacant, adding to the mystery and her curiosity about the owner, Greta Hideg.

Frances shares her life with her close friend Erica Penn in their cozy apartment. Their friendship and interactions become central as Erica becomes increasingly intrigued by the mysterious handbag and what lies within it.

During a movie screening, Frances is suddenly reminded of her deceased mother, evoking feelings of longing and loss. This experience highlights her emotional struggles and the isolation she feels in her current relationships.
