Wiley goes to the secluded beach for the arranged meeting but comes under fire and must flee into the sea. Holbrook arrives in a speedboat and rescues him, implying she orchestrates more than she reveals. The incident forges a dangerous alliance between them.

Back at Holbrook's home, she explains that her sister Carrie disappeared while traveling in Colombia. She implies foul play and pins the emerald trade as central to the mystery. The revelation ties Wiley to a larger, potentially lethal conspiracy.

Argenti visits and outlines his emerald operation and control of the vaults, revealing a world of smuggling and power. He wants to marry Holbrook to regain favor with the old organization that expelled him for stolen diamonds. The meeting establishes the personal stakes driving the plot.

In Colombia, Argenti demonstrates his operation, including a voice-activated vault where emeralds are stored. Wiley and Holbrook watch the scale of the business and the security around it. The showcase makes the risk of stealing from him feel real.

Wiley and Holbrook reach a rendezvous and escape on a boat, but run into a Colombian naval patrol and are boarded. The navy commander does not find the emeralds, but inadvertently releases them into the sea while destroying illegal fishing bait. Argenti and his men track Wiley and Holbrook to a secluded Miami-area holiday home, where a violent confrontation ensues. Holbrook is wounded, Wiley is cornered by Argenti, who is then killed by Jaap, his associate who has turned against him. The immediate danger dissipates, but the treasure remains a catalyst for trouble.

Holbrook recovers and Wiley takes delivery of a shipment of coffee from Colombia, inside which is concealed a package of emeralds from the rebels' plantation. The final twist ties the heist to a profitable logistics channel, leaving the fate of the gems uncertain but clearly lucrative. The duo rides out the outcome of their perilous enterprise.
