Ryosuke, a translator living alone in Tokyo since the passing of his wife, is unexpectedly visited by his daughter, Yuriko. Yuriko and her teacher husband, Shigeyuki, usually reside in Nagano Prefecture. Without explanation, she arrives at Ryosuke's home, and he's taken aback by her sudden, unannounced visit. As they navigate a strained relationship and a long-awaited reconnection, a nervous yet comforting atmosphere develops between father and daughter.
