It’s All Hallows’ Eve, and a quiet Halloween night spirals into a nightmare that sits at the crossroads of a convenience store and a Mexican Cantina & Bar. In the first scene, Anson steps into the shop to pick up sorbet and, true to the night, he flirts with Bethany, the clerk who will flicker in and out of the story’s orbit. Meanwhile, a small, bittersweet farewell party is winding down for Kerry—the Cantina’s departing waitress who plans to become a paramedic. The staff named Cricket, Kerry, Yannick, Hector, Chuy, Winketta, and their manager, with the security guard keeping watch, are wrapping up the celebration and locking up for the night.

But the mood shifts in an instant. The doors are welded shut and the phone lines are cut. Anson, his brother Stef, and Stef’s girlfriend Mimi materialize from the shadows, and they waste no time turning the party into a hostage scenario. The trio binds the employees to chairs and reveals their chilling purpose: they are not here for money; they are sadists who intend to torture and devour those around them. The grim reveal anchors the film in a brutal, calculated cruelty that unfolds with clinical precision.

In the kitchen, Stef chains Yannick to a cooking station, turning the space into a grim stage where the victims will be dispatched in a sequence of grotesque, sadistic games. The night takes a cruel bite as Yannick’s cuisine becomes the instrument of harm, and the group begins to systematically target the staff. Amid the terror, Kerry attempts a dangerous ruse—feigning romantic interest in Anson to gain his trust—while, at the same time, she moves through the maze of pantry shelves to gather the items Yannick will use for his macabre culinary plans.

As the horror escalates, the cannibals carve through the evening’s violence. Chuy is consumed, and the team’s appetite for fear intensifies. A cunning thread weaves through the chaos: Kerry’s distraction buys time, but it also reveals a deeper, more lethal rift among the captors. The suspense tightens around a critical detail—the basil that Yannick has secretly slipped into a dish, something Stef had specifically forbidden because of a dangerous allergy. The discovery is tied to a list of pantry items, a code of sorts that Yannick used to signal Kerry. The moment of revelation triggers a brutal confrontation between Stef and Yannick, each fighting for control as the kitchen becomes a war zone.

In the quieter, but no less brutal, corners of the building, Hector frees Cricket, and upstairs Anson confronts Hector in a tense one-on-one while Cricket battles Mimi with overlapping ferocity. The kitchen erupts in a long, bloody struggle as Stef and Yannick clash, and Stef ultimately ends Yannick’s life. The house of horrors continues its bloody march as Mimi kills Cricket, only to be hunted by Kerry, who turns the tables and takes Mimi’s life in return. A tense moment sees Anson poised to kill his own brother, but he ends up killing Hector as the violence spirals toward its grim apex.

The emotional and moral rot of the night comes to a head as Anson and Kerry reunite in the wake of Stef’s death and Yannick’s end. Stef’s betrayal—Kerry’s claimed romance, and the truth she reveals—shatters Anson’s trust. Kerry confesses the ruse and frees Burt, a random patron held in the kitchen, which catalyzes their attempt to escape through a narrow air-conditioner opening. As they flee, Anson’s anger surges and he lunges toward Kerry, only to be met with an arrow meant to neutralize him. Kerry crawls through the opening, but a revived Anson bursts back into the space, bites into her leg, and she staggers toward safety. She escapes, though the fall from the escape route claims Burt’s life, and a speeding ambulance—driven by someone she once trained with—drags Kerry into a fate that remains just out of reach of closure. She is loaded into the vehicle, panic rising as she realizes Anson has vanished from the scene.

Months slip by, and the narrative folds back on itself in a haunting epilogue. Anson, now consulting with his pickled, severed-headed brother, returns to the same convenience store where the night began. He visits Bethany once more, offering a single red rose and inviting romance into his life with a soft, tentative hope. Bethany accepts, and the two share ice cream as a calm, ordinary moment briefly returns to the world. Across the street, Kerry—scarred but resolute—hides in plain sight, snapping photos of the couple with a sly, knowing smile before the screen fades to black. The ending leaves a cold, unsettling aftertaste: the violence may have ended for now, but Kerry’s watchful gaze suggests a game that isn’t finished, a survivor’s cunning that lingers just out of reach.
