Her efforts to escape justice were thwarted when the police were alerted by her neighbor after witnessing her torture of Professor Paul. Wei fled the scene, but her attempt to hide was in vain. She sought refuge in the underground railway station, where the broken vial spilled, reacting with her skin and causing her and the homeless man to merge into a horrifying, fused creature.
