S. Quentin Quale, a smooth‑talking embezzler, heads west hoping for fortune. At a train station he’s robbed by the naive brothers Joseph and Rusty Panello, who are also chasing gold. In Dead Man’s Gulch they befriend miner Dan Wilson, give him their last ten dollars and receive his deed as collateral. Unaware that Wilson’s rival’s son has arranged a railroad through the land, the brothers lose the deed to saloon owner Red Baxter. Quale and the Panellos must outwit Baxter and secure the claim, while romance brews between Wilson’s daughter Eva and rival Terry Turner.
