In a bustling town where tradition battles modern ambition, Ramprasad Dashrathprasad Sharma—a diligent chartered accountant with a hidden talent for singing—shares a modest home with his supportive sister Ratna. Fresh out of college and eager for stability, he leans on his well‑connected uncle Kedar for a foot in the door, landing an interview at the austere firm of Bhavani Shankar, the stern proprietor of Urmila Traders. Shankar’s world is governed by an almost nostalgic set of rules: a distaste for contemporary fashion, a skepticism toward sport, and even a quirkier disdain for clean‑shaven men.
