Haruo Sakaki is rescued by a native girl named Miana, who treats his wound with a strange powder, indicating a connection to the Earth's native life. Haruo reunites with some of his teammates, but soon faces confrontation when Miana's twin sister Maina's hunting party captures them. The group is telepathically questioned by Maina, Miana, and the Houtua leaders about their actions that burned part of the land. Haruo's group joins forces with Metphies and other survivors during an encounter with a creature called Servum. Haruo chooses to fight Godzilla while remaining human, rejecting Galu-Gu’s plan to transcend humanity. As the city is destroyed and nanometal becomes inert, Haruo's resolve to retain his humanity is solidified. The humans prepare for a last stand to protect Earth.
