Ghostbusters II

The Ghostbusters, comprising Egon, Ray, Peter, and Winston, successfully save New York City from the powerful demi-god Gozer. Their victory, however, comes with significant consequences, as extensive property damage leads to lawsuits against them.

As a result of the legal troubles, the Ghostbusters are barred from investigating supernatural occurrences and ultimately go out of business. Each member struggles to adapt to their new lives, pursuing unconventional jobs in various fields.

Ray opens a quirky occult bookstore while also taking on the role of a children's entertainer. His new venture lacks popularity, highlighting the fallout from the Ghostbusters' previous heroic endeavors.

Egon takes a position at Columbia University, focusing on groundbreaking experiments related to human emotion. His work reflects a shift away from ghostbusting towards scientific exploration of the paranormal.

Peter Venkman becomes the host of a pseudo-psychic television show, a drastic career change from his ghostbusting days. His new job suggests a reliance on entertainment rather than genuine specter-hunting.

Dana Barrett, Peter's former girlfriend, now has a son named Oscar and works as a restorer at the Manhattan Museum of Art. Her career reflects a newfound stability, although echoes of her past with Peter linger.

An eerie incident occurs when Oscar's baby carriage is mysteriously controlled by an unseen force and headed towards a busy street. In desperation, Dana reaches out to the Ghostbusters for help.

Dana's colleague, Dr. Janosz Poha, becomes enchanted by the spirit of Vigo the Carpathian, who is trapped inside a painting. Vigo commands Janosz to find a child to possess, revealing his sinister intentions.

The Ghostbusters conduct an illegal excavation at First Avenue, where the baby carriage was last seen moving. They discover a flowing river of pink slime that leads to a chaotic interaction resulting in a city-wide blackout.

During their trial, the pink slime reacts dramatically to the judge's anger, causing chaos in the courtroom and releasing two ghosts. This unexpected event assists the Ghostbusters in clearing their names.

As the slime becomes increasingly aggressive, it invades Dana's apartment, threatening her and Oscar. This attack compels Dana to seek refuge with Peter, rekindling their past romantic connection.

The Ghostbusters investigate the properties of the slime and discover it reacts strongly to human emotions. They come to understand that the negativity of the city’s inhabitants is amplifying the slime's power.

As New Year's Eve approaches, the slime begins wreaking havoc across the city, leading the Ghostbusters to seek a symbol of positivity. They galvanize citizens to animate the Statue of Liberty using positively-charged slime and music.

The Ghostbusters confront Vigo and Janosz at the museum after breaking through the slime barrier with the Statue of Liberty's help. An intense battle ensues where they must fight to protect Oscar from possession.

With the combined effort of the Ghostbusters and the cheering crowd, Vigo is defeated, becoming a grotesque creature that is ultimately destroyed. The Ghostbusters receive a warm welcome from the citizens, culminating in a ceremony where they are honored with the Key to the City.
