Geppetto

Geppetto's wish to have a son is granted when the Blue Fairy brings the wooden puppet Pinocchio to life. She explains that he must prove himself brave, truthful, and unselfish to become a real boy. Pinocchio awakens to a world of possibility beside his grateful creator.

Geppetto is thrilled to have Pinocchio alive, but the puppet soon shows curiosity and wanderlust, ignoring his role as a future son and toymaker. Pinocchio asks endless questions and drifts away from the plan to become a skilled maker.

Geppetto sends Pinocchio to school to blend in with other children, but he imitates everyone and ends up in a fight. Disappointed, Geppetto brings him home, realizing his dream of a real family will face rough starts.

Geppetto pleads with the Blue Fairy to understand Pinocchio's trouble, but she remains unconvinced. He returns home to apologize, only to find Pinocchio has run off to Stromboli's theater.

Pinocchio arrives at Stromboli's puppet theater and becomes the star attraction, bringing the theater wealth. Stromboli signs a contract that binds Pinocchio to stay, preventing him from leaving.

When Pinocchio tries to leave, Stromboli's contract traps him. Pinocchio escapes from his cage after the show and runs to catch a stagecoach bound for Pleasure Island, with Geppetto and the Blue Fairy in pursuit.

Geppetto and the Blue Fairy reach Pleasure Island and discover that the rollercoaster turns boys into donkeys. Because adults are not allowed to stay, Stromboli is kicked out, while Geppetto arrives in time to try to bring Pinocchio home.

Pinocchio refuses Geppetto’s rescue and chooses to stay with Pleasure Island, transforming into a donkey on the rollercoaster. He is shipped off to sea by boat, a grim fate for the would-be son.

In a desperate pursuit of Pinocchio, Geppetto falls from the boat and is swallowed by a monstrous whale. He finds himself trapped inside the whale's belly, clinging to hope for reconciliation with his son.

Pinocchio leaps into the sea to rescue his father, only to be swallowed by the same whale. Inside the vast belly, they reconcile and vow to find a way out together.

Inside the whale, Geppetto and Pinocchio plan their escape by Pinocchio telling several lies. Pinocchio's nose grows, irritating the whale's uvula and triggering a purge that spits them back into the world.

They surface and return to Geppetto's workshop, where Stromboli arrives to reclaim Pinocchio under the contract. Geppetto offers his entire shop in exchange for Pinocchio's freedom, hoping to buy him a real future.

The Blue Fairy, unable to help earlier, grants Pinocchio one final wish and transforms him into a real boy. She banishes Stromboli with magic, and the shop's sign changes to 'Geppetto & Son' as father and son begin their new life together.
