In the lab of the Professor Grzegorz Pawlak, an experiment with his assistant yields an uncanny result: the computer materializes the image of a hedgehog. The Professor sends his assistant to track down a real one, setting off a chain of strange consequences.
Stefan Marcin Sosnowski and Zenek Michał Koterski, two rough skinheads in the neighborhood, attack Jerzy Borys Szyc and his lover Yola Maria Peszek in the chaos that follows, but the couple manages to defeat them. The Assistant Jarosław Boberek arrives with a chilling offer: take Jerzy’s DNA and kill him. They obtain the DNA, engineer a clone, and yet Jerzy miraculously survives.
The analysis suggests Jerzy could become a pop star, but there’s a crucial snag: he cannot be contained. Jerzy reunites with Yola, but the clone materializes and assaults her. She becomes furious and leaves. Jerzy attempts to explain, but the assistant seizes him, mistaking him for the clone. He escapes, only to be spotted by Stefan and Zenek, who collide with the clone and beat him—until Yola intervenes and drives the clone home, believing him to be the real Jerzy.
The real Jerzy returns home, but Yola won’t listen. Zenek persuades Jerzy to meet under the Poniatowskiego bridge by posing as Yola. There, Jerzy is knocked unconscious and dumped into the river. He is eventually rescued by Lilka Maciej Maleczuk.
Meanwhile, the clone ascends to international celebrity. Yola longs to reconcile and meets Lilka, who starts to suspect the truth. Jerzy resolves to reclaim his name and crashes a concert where the clone is performing, revealing the truth to the crowd. A scuffle erupts, a beam collapses, and the clone is crushed.
Yola witnesses the fight and tries to reach Jerzy, but she is captured by the assistant. Jerzy pursues them and the assistant is arrested. With the dust settling, Yola and Jerzy finally begin to mend their relationship on the bridge. The Professor discovers the clone is still alive but lets him go, convinced he can manage without him. In a final twist, the clone is found by two Vietnamese chefs and turned into a meal.
