Gayatri

Sivaji grows up an orphan and finds his calling as a stage artist. He falls in love with Sharada, marries her, and they start a family, facing poverty and hardship together. Their early happiness is soon shadowed by illness and financial strain.

Sharada is hospitalized after a medical scare, and doctors reveal she has pelvic cancer requiring a large amount of money for treatment. Sivaji contemplates desperate, risky options to raise the funds to save her life.

Giri proposes that Sivaji go to jail for two days in exchange for money to pay for Sharada's treatment. Sivaji agrees, but fate alters the plan as he ends up serving two weeks in jail instead.

When the truth surfaces, Sivaji learns that Sharada and the baby she carried died. He is devastated and nearly ends his life by stepping in front of a train, only to be saved by Giri, who then dies.

Before dying, Giri reveals that the baby survived. Gayatri grows up in Ramanujam Orphanage, and on her birthday she receives a photo of her mother Sharada, who died during delivery.

In the present, Gayatri and Prasad go to Sivaji's house to find him, but Sivaji is not there. They discover he has vanished and are left to piece together his past instead.

Sivaji is attacked and captured by goons who work for his lookalike, Gayatri Patel, while he is at the temple. The capture sets the stage for identity confusion and impersonation.

Patel is arrested and sentenced to death for a hospital arson, while Sivaji is implicated in the same case. In prison, Sivaji confesses to jailer Simhachalam that he is the real Sivaji, not Patel.

Patel disguises himself as Sivaji and goes to Gayatri's house, where she apologizes to him, thinking he is her father. The misidentity deepens the emotional tension for the pair.

News reporter Shreshta Jayaram informs Sivaji that Patel has gone to his house in disguise and has killed Prasad. Shreshta later interviews Patel and privately tells Gayatri that Sivaji is in jail, waiting for Patel's death sentence, and that Patel has taken Sivaji's place as her father.

In jail, Sivaji expresses his final wish to watch his own acting, hoping the people will grant this plea. Patel, meanwhile, tries to secure a flight to the US to escape accountability and replace Sivaji in public perception.

Patel attacks Sivaji during a tense confrontation, and the police cannot easily tell the two apart. Gayatri shoots Patel to end the threat, and Simhachalam arranges for Patel's punishment. Sivaji and Gayatri leave the jail together as the truth about their relationship is finally acknowledged.
