Garfield on the Town

Jon Arbuckle grows concerned after Garfield and Odie mess up his house. He decides to take Garfield to the pet hospital to get help. The moment sets up the worry that Garfield's antics are escalating.

Jon drives Garfield to the vet, but Garfield accidentally falls out of the car and becomes separated from him. He ends up lost in downtown streets. The incident marks Garfield's unexpected solo adventure.

Garfield encounters the Claws, a gang of unfriendly alley cats led by their aggressive leader. He tries to avoid them, which drives him to flee into an abandoned Italian restaurant. The dangerous pursuit forces him to seek shelter inside the restaurant.

Inside the restaurant, Garfield reunites with his estranged mother. He learns that the building is his birthplace, and it rekindles his love for lasagna. The moment ties his past to the present danger.

Meanwhile, Jon calls Garfield's veterinarian, Dr. Liz Wilson, to report the disappearance. Liz suggests that a tow truck would help locate him. Jon then runs a Lost and Found ad in the town newspaper and decides to shorten it to save money.

The next day, Garfield meets the rest of his extended family, including his sickly half-brother Raoul, his cousin Sly who acts as a security guard, and his tough maternal grandfather. He learns that everyone in his family are mousers, a contrast to his life with Jon. The encounter deepens his sense of belonging to Jon and his past.

The Claws track Garfield down, surround the building, and demand that Garfield come out. The threat intensifies as the family tries to hold their ground. The situation tests their resolve to protect him.
