Frostbitten

Fleeing the Red Army, the remnants of the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking seek shelter in an abandoned cabin. As night falls, vampires inhabiting a hidden crypt beneath the cabin launch a deadly attack. The assault decimates the group, leaving Beckert and a child vampire named Maria as its only survivors.

Beckert emerges as the lone survivor from the cabin massacre, now accompanied by Maria, a child vampire. He travels to northern Sweden with the intent to study vampirism and eventually develop a cure or new hybrids. His work hints at a larger plan to spread vampirism rather than simply destroy it.

In present-day Sweden, doctor Annika and her teenage daughter Saga move to a town in Lappland so Annika can work close to the famous geneticist Gerhard Beckert. They confront the harsh polar night, with about a month until dawn. The move sets the stage for Saga's social life to unfold in a quiet town that hides dark secrets.

Saga meets Vega, an enigmatic goth girl, who invites her to a local party. With nothing else to do, Saga accepts and heads to the gathering. The party becomes a signal for the unfolding nocturnal danger.

Medical student Sebastian finds capsules at the hospital that Beckert has used on a comatose patient. Thinking they are ordinary drugs, he takes one and develops extraordinary senses and thirst, and gains the ability to talk to dogs.

Vega arrives at Sebastian's house to collect the pills she paid for. Sebastian apologizes that he forgot to obtain them, but she steals them anyway.

At the hospital, Annika tends to the coma patient who suddenly bites her. Beckert, realizing what has happened, knocks her unconscious and reveals his true identity.

Beckert explains his survival from the cabin massacre and his motive to cure vampirism, but his real aim is to create new human-vampire hybrids. He has used the pills—capsules of vampire blood—to covertly spread vampirism and study its effects. The scene sets up a bigger threat to the town and Saga.

Annika frees herself and confronts Beckert in a brutal confrontation. She drives a stake into his heart and then runs him over with an ambulance, destroying him. The threat posed by Beckert to spawn vampirism is finally ended.

Vega hands the pills to John, the party host, who drinks one. He adds the remaining pills to a punch bowl, infecting several guests and triggering a full-blown vampire outbreak. The party erupts into a brutal bloodbath.

Saga hides in the basement as chaos erupts around her. Vega attacks but Saga escapes to the backyard and impales Vega on a garden gnome, ending Vega's threat.

Police arrive to investigate the disturbance but are quickly overrun by attacking vampires. The situation escalates as Saga is forced into an ambulance with the ongoing threat of pursuit. The surrounding town descends into a deadly night.

Inside the ambulance, Saga encounters Maria, who tells her that they will be sisters. The revelation hints at a twisted family bond among the living and the undead. The line between ally and foe becomes blurred.

As Saga looks toward the driver's seat, she sees Annika in the front with red vampire eyes. The revelation implies Annika has become one of the night’s predators. The dawn remains far away as the night continues.
