Frankenstein’s Daughter

In the sprawling neon haze of modern Los Angeles, a quiet suburban home becomes the unlikely heart of a dark experiment. Trudy Morton, a restless teenager, shares the house with her practical uncle, Carter Morton, and a reclusive scientist who has taken up residence in their garage‑turned lab. The city’s glittering streets contrast sharply with the secretive, almost ritualistic work happening behind closed doors, where the scent of chemicals mingles with teenage dreams and lingering unease.

Carter is driven by an idealistic vision of eradicating disease and granting humanity a sort of eternal life, while the scientist— a descendant of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein— is consumed by an obsessive quest to fashion a “perfect being.” Their divergent ambitions create a fragile equilibrium, pulling Trudy into a world where science feels like sorcery. As she navigates the ordinary pressures of school and relationships, she is haunted by vivid nightmares of a hulking creature tearing through the city, a fear she can’t easily share with her skeptical boyfriend, Johnny Bruder.

The film balances sleek urban noir with claustrophobic, home‑lab horror, bathing every scene in a palette of cold fluorescents and muted shadows.
