A group of women arrives by bus to the small town in the depopulated central Province of Guadalajara. The newcomers—Marirrosi from Bilbao, Patricia from the Dominican Republic, and Milady from Cuba—are each seeking love, stability, or a chance to start anew.

Patricia decides to settle with Damian, a hardworking farmer who lives with his mother, Gregoria.
